RCREEE to support Djibouti achieve its ambitious 100% renewable energy target

March 25, 2019, Djibouti: Minister of Energy in charge of Natural Resources in Djibouti, H.E. Minister Yonis Ali Guendi and RCREEEE signed a mandate framework to support achieving Djibouti ambitious renewable energy target by 2035.

Accordingly, RCREEE is to communicate, establish and enter into mandated business and financial partnerships for implementing components of the first National Renewable Energy Action Plan (NREAP) as well as support for RE regulatory reform and associated executive regulations. The framework also regulates the cooperation between the ministry and RCREEE to develop Djibouti NREAP. RCREEE will also provide technical support for carrying out capacity development activities as the first exchange mission between Government of Djibouti and Egyptian Government. The mandate is valid for 3 years from the signature date.

H.E. Minister Yonis Ali Guendi signed the framework agreement with RCREEEE Technical Director, Dr. Maged K. Mahmoud on behalf of RCREEE Executive Director, Dr. Ahmed Badr.

Dr. Maged headed RCREEE delegation to Djibouti, which is part of the technical mission organized following his Excellency meeting with Dr. Ahmed Badr last year in RCREEE headquarters. Speaking on behalf of the Secretariat, Dr. Badr expressed full support to Djibouti with accessing the full range of support services provided by RCREEE.
