ECOWAS COMMISSIONER FOR ENERGY AND MINES VISITS ECREEE

March 14, 2018 - The ECOWAS Commissioner for Energy and Mines, Mr. Sediko Douka, accompanied by the Director of Energy, Mr. Bayoarnibe Dabire, paid a working visit to the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE).

The purpose of the visit was to familiarize themselves with the staff and the work programs at ECREEE.

The ECOWAS Commissioner was received by Mr. Bah F. M. Saho, Principal Program Officer – Renewable Energy, on behalf of the ECREEE Executive Director, Mr. Mahama Kappiah, Mr. Saho provided an indept presentation on ECREEE’s programs and activities.   

Reacting to the presentation, Commissioner Douka tasked ECREEE to come up with more projects in the area of Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency to reach the much needed ECOWAS population. Mr. Douka congratulated ECREEE for covering many projects and urged ECREEE management to encourage more interaction with civil society organizations. 

He also advised the centre to come up with physical structures such as training centers in a bid to reach out to the common citizen. Also speaking at the meeting, the Director of Energy and Mines, Bayoarnibe Dabire praised the partner institutions for the trust in the execution of their duties.
