Bahrain Assumes Leadership of RCREEE Board of Trustees for 2013

The Kingdom of Bahrain has taken over the presidency of the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) Board of Trustees for the year 2013.

His Excellency Sheikh Nawaf Bin Ibrahim Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chief Executive of the Bahraini Electricity and Water Authority  has been named chairman of RCREEE’s Board of Trustees (BoT), succeeding Mr. Lakhdar Ben Maazouz, Director of Renewable Energy Department at the Algerian Ministry of Energy and Mines.

RCREEE’s secretariat thanks Mr. Lakhdar Ben Maazouz for his support, leadership and outstanding efforts over the last year and looks forward to working under the new leadership.

About His Excellency Sheikh Nawaf Bin Ibrahim Bin Hamad Al Khalifa:

His Excellency has spearheaded various responsibilities at the Bahraini government since 1993. He has been leading many information technology and administrative development initiatives that altered the day-to-day operations at the Bahraini Government.

H.E. held numerous roles, starting as a Management Engineer at the Civil Service Bureau in 1996. Then, he moved to the Ministry of Electricity and Water in 1999 where he held many positions that included; Assistant Undersecretary, Vice Chief Executive for Administration and Finance. Then, he moved to the Ministry of Housing to hold the Undersecretary position. Again, he moved back to the Electricity and Water Authority as a Chief Executive in 2012.

H.E. obtained his BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in 1992. Later, he obtained his Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland in 1999.
