The Commissioner for Internal services, Honourable Dr. Nazifi Abdullahi Darma accompanied by the Directors Administration and Financial Reporting, on Monday, October 16, 2023, paid a courtesy visit to ECREEE. The visit was for the Commissioner to familiarize himself with the Centers activities and staff, and to identify pertinent issues of ECREEE and how best they can be addressed.

During the discussion, the Commissioner expressed his delight to be at ECREEE and informed staff members of the reforms currently in consideration at the ECOWAS Commission to enable them to work effectively to improve the lives of ECOWAS citizens.

He encouraged ECREEE to keep up and maintain good relationships with its partners, by strictly adhering to the project reporting and result framework. He pledges to work audaciously with the ECREEE’s Management to boost internal and donor funding, to upscale Renewable Energy and ultimately improve access to electricity in the region. The Commissioner reminded staff members of the daunting task ahead, giving that energy is crucial and a major driver towards sustainable development.

The ECREEE Executive Director conveyed his appreciation for the continued support given by the Commissioner and gave the assurance that ECREEE staff will continue their effort in addressing the various challenges for access to sustainable energy for all in the region. The Meeting ended with a presentation of the Annual Report 2022 and the Strategic Plan 2023-2027 to the Honourable Commissioner.
