RCREEE welcomes APSEY 13th round interns

January 2020- Cairo, Egypt: With great pleasure and excitement the Regional Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) family welcomed on board new interns, as part of the Arab Program for Sustainable Energy Youth ™ (APSEY).

Joining us from seven different member states, namely, Egypt, Djibouti, Sudan, Algeria, Syria, Tunisia and Palestine, the young renewable energy enthusiasts will be spending six months at RCREEE. During their internship, they will have hands-on training on data mining, research and analysis skills through direct involvement in RCREEE regional and country level research and analysis tools activities and through placement in RCREEE projects under the supervision of RCREEE team.

The call for candidates of the 13th round was launched in August  2019. It was met with great interest, attracting approximately 1000 applications making the selection process difficult given the massive response and the high quality of applications received from RCREEE member states.

Based on the strong belief of the importance of empowering youth for a sustainable future, OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) has co-financed APSEY ™ program since 2014. The support was extended in 2016 and later in 2018 for interns from Yemen, Sudan, Palestine, Djibouti, Mauritania, Somalia and Syria.

To date, we have had the privilege of hosting more than 70 young professional from RCREEE member states whom have successfully completed the internship program.
