RCREEE Welcomes the 4th Round of the Arab Program for Sustainable Energy Youth™ (APSEY) Interns on Board

After the successful completion of three rounds of the Arab Program for Sustainable Energy Youth (APSEY), eight interns were contracted from Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Syria, Sudan and Yemen. The APSEY round 4 started on 14th January 2015 at the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) with the support of the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID).

Going through their orientation, the APSEY interns are receiving trainings on business and technical topics to learn about RCREEE, its projects, and its communication strategy. The orientation also aims to foster their knowledge of renewable energy and energy efficiency topics, and to develop their professional skills of presentation, corporate culture and a professional environment.

The OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) has approved in August 2014 a USD100,000 grant in support of APSEY to address renewable energy and energy efficiency issues.

At RCREEE, we believe that our region’s young talents are its most valuable asset. The Arab Program for Sustainable Energy Youth™ (APSEY) is a regional sustainable energy capacity building program which targets young professionals and post graduate students of engineering, economy, and law fields from the Arab region. The program recruits more than 12 interns every year on two rounds for a hands-on experience in the center’s research and analysis, policy briefs, technical assistance, and other related activities. The opportunity covers full travel and accommodation expenses in Cairo, Egypt in addition to a monthly salary.
