RCREEE Supports RE Knowledge Exchange between Egypt and Lebanon

May 8-9, 2013, in an attempt to promote RE & EE knowledge exchange among Arab countries, RCREEE organized a knowledge exchange mission for two days to Lebanon, where experts from Egypt and Lebanon shared experiences on several important topics.

In the mission’s first day, a delegation from the Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and Energy including representatives of the Renewable Energy Authority (NREA), the Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) and the Electricity Regulatory Agency (EgyptERA) visited the Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation (LCEC) and identified how the concept of renewable electricity Net-Metering is designed and practiced in Lebanon.

 

In the second day of the mission, a workshop on Wind Projects Planning was organized by RCREEE and LCEC.  The workshop aimed at enriching the Lebanese participants experience via sharing over 15 years of Egyptian and European expertise in large-scale wind projects implementation.

Notably,  the event was attended  by more than 80 experts. It tackled a number of issues related to to project life-cycle, tender documents preparation, technical requirements for wind projects integration with electricity networks and electricity cost estimation.
