RCREEE Supports Kuwait’s First Energy Efficiency Conference

Kuwait, June 2013, RCREEE participated in the first Kuwait Energy and Efficiency conference which took place at the Hilton Kuwait Resort on 2-4 June 2013. The event aimed at creating a platform for meaningful discussions to establish an effective regulatory framework and energy efficiency strategy in Kuwait. The event discussed a number of issues that included improving energy efficiency in power production, assessing alternative and clean energy solutions such as solar, wind and waste to energy, and the status of these projects in Kuwait. RCREEE executive director, Dr. Tareq Emtairah participated in the panel session on “Establishing best practice in regional energy efficiency strategies”. The Conference concluded with plans to set up a voluntary, non-governmental Kuwait Energy and Water Efficiency Association to engage private, non-governmental, and public sector organizations interested in helping Kuwait achieve its efficiency goals.

Kuwait Energy and Efficiency is considered the only conference that addresses sustainable energy solution for Kuwait. Also, it’s the only forum that gathers policymakers with industry leader to decide upon energy efficiency map for Kuwait.
