RCREEE Pilots the Arab Future Energy National Network Project in Sudan

In an effort to improve coordination in member states, RCREEE, represented by Eng. Maged Mahmoud, Head of Projects and Technical Affairs and Amer Barghouth, Private Investments Project Manager, visited Sudan on 25 August, 2014 to establish the Arab Future Energy National Network project to act as a platform for national coordination.

During their visit, Eng. Maged headed the Second National Dialogue Session, at the University of Khartoum along with Eng. Yasser AbdAllah, Head of Renewable Energy Department at the Ministry of Electricity and Water Resources, while Mr. Barghouth moderated the session.  After extensive deliberation, the meeting concluded with unanimous support from participants to establish the network.

The Arab Future Energy National Network project aims to support the establishment of sustainable energy networks in Arab countries., The national networks aim to facilitate information flow among national stakeholders. They also help in improving coordination among different public agencies, and foster stronger public private cooperation on issues relating to renewable energy and energy efficiency.  In addition to regular personal meetings, RCREEE will provide the networks with an online platform to disseminate knowledge and foster dialogue about RE and EE situation through electronic channels. RCREEE intends to establish similar networks in Yemen, Djibouti and Mauritania.
