Under the scope of Ministry of Energy and Water (MEW) major initiative to develop Solar Water Heaters (SWH) market; the ministry raised a new request for proposals for the supply of 1,000 flat-plate solar water heaters. Efforts to develop SWH markets go back to 2009 with “GEF Global Solar Water Heaters Project” undertaken by MEW and UNDP Lebanon and funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF). The project aims at increasing SWH installations to 190,000 m2 by 2014.
