Jordan’s Electricity Regulatory Commission (ERC) announced the county’s first feed-in power tariffs for renewable energy sources. This tariff aims at encouraging the Jordanian residents to make use of recent regulations that enable consumers to sell surplus electricity from renewables to the national grid. Further, ERC chief commissioner, Mohammad Hamid, assured that these regulations should help the government reduce electricity demand and costs at a press conference on the announcement.
