Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and the Energy Charter Secretariat held a high level Meeting on “Sustainable energy in the Middle East and North Africa: Renewable, Efficiency and Regional Cooperation” on July, 3 2013 in Amman, Jordan . The meeting was attended by representatives from the governmental sector, energy companies, regional and international organizations, as well as filed experts in the MENA region. Participants viewed a comprehensive picture of all challenges related to renewable energy and energy efficiency . The meeting also discussed energy cooperation, renewable energy and energy efficiency policies and regulations in the MENA region. RCREEE Executive director, Dr. Tareq Emtairah, attended the meeting presenting an overview of regional co-operation and energy efficiency governance in RCREEE member states. At the end of the meeting, participants issued “Amman Declaration” which included recommendations regarding sustainable energy regional cooperation.
