ECREEE AND ITS PARTNERS ORGANIZE THE SECOND CERTIFICATION EXAM FOR OFF-GRID SOLAR TECHNICIANS IN BENIN

Praia, December 12th, 2022. The ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE), in collaboration with the Ecole Supérieure des Métiers des Énergies Renouvelables (ESMER) and the Agence Béninoise pour l'Électrification Rurale et la Maîtrise de l'Énergie (ABERME), are organizing a regional examination for the certification of off-grid solar photovoltaic system technicians (level 1). This initiative, which is part of the ECOWAS Sustainable Energy Skills Certification Scheme (ECSES), is supported by the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ).

This is the 2nd exam organized in Benin and the 7th exam of the ECSES Program organized in ECOWAS countries (Benin, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal). The objective is to stimulate the deployment of off-grid PV systems by increasing the number of qualified installers and practitioners who can effectively design, install and maintain PV systems in the region.

Candidates must have experience in the field of off-grid solar photovoltaic systems. The theoretical and practical tests of the exam will take place from December 12 to 14, 2022 at ESMER located in Abomey-Calavi.
