ECREEE DEEPENS ITS COOPERATION WITH EUTEC

Praia, February 4, 2021 – The ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) signs a Memorandum of Understanding with the European Technology Chamber (EUTEC), aiming at aligning their common vision of building bridges between markets, promoting education, and a thriving economy. The two organizations will be collaborating to implement energy-related programs and projects and undertake academic exchange and learning events.

With its mission of “contributing to the sustainable economic, social and environmental development of West Africa”, the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, under the leadership of Mr. Bah Saho, has put in place a clear strategy of bringing on-board partners from all over the globe. The objective of this strategy is to have a collaborative approach in tackling pressing challenges that hinder the rapid rollout of sustainable energy solutions.  It is in this context that ECREEE forges this new partnership with EUTEC-- a credible entity with a proven record of accomplishment in using and promoting technology, towards reaching the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. EUTC believes that “technology is the only way to reach those targets”. EUTEC focuses on creating a real impact in developing countries.

Both ECREEE and EUTEC share the same vision that building bridges between markets, a thriving economy, and a technology-based education brings prosperity and this will be one of the best guarantors of peace. The cooperation is focused on but not limited to energy-related programs, projects, academic exchange, and events.

EUTEC commits to assist ECREEE and the ECOWAS Member States in establishing contacts with business and social projects from Europe and all around the world, to forge a strong network of contacts to enable a favourable environment for sustainable development.

Furthermore, both organizations will promote each other’s projects, programs, and events. This they are convinced, will not only boost visibility about the activities carried out but also create room for interested stakeholders to access relevant information and available opportunities.
